The following information is provided for students who wish to apply for the CT9 Business Awareness Module. Students who cannot attend a face-to-face course in the UK or overseas may enrol for the distance learning version of the course.

You can now register online for the CT9 course based exams when paying by credit or debit card. Application forms are available below for use by those paying by other means.
Booking online means that you will have greater access to all the current course dates and locations. You will receive email confirmation of your booking and can print out receipts for the booking.
The online booking facility is not currently available for students wishing to undertake the distance learning version of the course. These students will need to return an application form.

The Business Awareness Module is Subject CT9. It involves a two-day residential course, with pre-course study and a post-course test, and has been designed to help people joining the Actuarial Profession understand:
Attendance at the course and passing the follow-up test is a requirement of qualification for those who joined the Profession from 1 July 2004.
It is recommended that students take the Business Awareness Module within 15 to 18 months of joining the Profession, assuming that you have the necessary work experience.
The pre-course study should take approximately 20 hours and consists of:
It is essential that students carry out all the pre-course work.
The online tutorials mentioned above are those that must be studied pre-course. There are further tutorials to be completed either pre- or post-course, which will take a further 10-15 hours. They must be completed before taking the post-course online test.
The post-course online test, which can be taken two weeks after attending the course, should take less than two hours to complete. You need to pass this test in order to pass CT9, thereby demonstrating that you understood the principles covered during the two-day course and in the online tutorials.
The pass list for the module will be released on the 1st of each month, unless this falls on a weekend when it will be published on the following Monday.
