First CEPAR International Conference: Analysing Population Ageing: Multidisciplinary perspectives and innovations

02 July 2013, 09:00 to 03 July 2013, 08:00

The ARC Centre of Excellence in Population Ageing Research (CEPAR) is delighted to announce its inaugural international conference, to take place at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, on July 2 and 3 2013.

Population ageing is a global phenomenon. While individual nations are at different stages in demographic transition, the trend for almost all is clear. The economic and social impact of demographic change is generating increasing research and policy attention. This conference will bring together leading academics, senior policymakers and practitioners to share new research and industry and policy perspectives on the dynamics of the ageing demographic. Fiscal, labour force, family, health, and financial questions will be discussed.

Effective analysis of the implications of population ageing requires expertise drawn from multiple disciplines. We are seeking submissions from all relevant fields, including economics, actuarial science, demography, epidemiology, finance, psychology, risk management and sociology. The deadline for submission of abstracts in Friday 15 February 2013.

Further details about the conference including topics and keynote speakers together with instructions for submitting abstracts and registering can be found at http://www.cepar.edu.au/events/cepar-conference-2013.aspx
