Open Forum: Presentation on Central Clearing

09 September 2013 17:00 to 18:15

Registration: 17.00 to 17.30

Programme: 17.30 to 18.15

Why attend?

This event will update attendees on the latest developments around central clearing for OTC derivatives and other regulatory changes taking place in derivative markets.  Pension funds and insurers have been making increased use of OTC derivatives for liability hedging and risk management, and forthcoming changes will have significant impacts on investment strategies, investment operations and reporting.  All users of derivatives need to be prepared for this.

Who should attend?

Any actuaries working in investment, particularly those involved in derivatives for pension funds and insurers.  Some knowledge of derivative markets would be useful although the content will be a high level overview.  It will be primarily UK focused, but will compare regulatory change in the UK with what is happening in Europe and the US.
