Open Forum: Scheme Funding - the Implications of Change
21 November 2012
17:00 to 19:00
The Institute and Faculty of Actuaries is holding an Open Forum to discuss the pension funding regime. Recent public comment has centred on the impact of current economic conditions on defined benefit pension schemes.
- The Pensions Regulator has stated the current funding regime is sufficiently flexible to deal with the low gilt yield environment.
- Employer representatives have proposed a relaxation in the funding regime to reduce the financial pressure in scheme funding.
- What are the implications of changing, or retaining, the current regime?
- Can Trustees and companies continue to agree on mutually acceptable funding plans?
This event is open to all those who have an interest in pension scheme funding.
