Professionalism: the changing face of regulation in the legal profession - co-operating with the learning from other regulators

Why attend?

The changing face of the legal services market both north and south of the border is bringing challenges for regulators. The changes brought about by the Legal Services Act 2007 in England and Wales and being brought about by the Legal Services (Scotland) Act 2010 will see the creation of legal businesses where other professions are directly involved and may require to comply with standards set down by the legal regulators as well as their own professional bodies.Philip Yelland, the director of regulation at the Law Society of Scotland will talk about the challenges faced and how this will change relations between regulators in terms of considering issues such as conflicting rules and standards.
