Who should attend?

Actuaries who hold a statutory practising certificate and who attended a Professionalism Course more than 10 years ago, should attend as soon as possible.  This popular and interactive course will help you develop and maintain your professional competence.  The CPD scheme requires nearly every actuary to attend a professionalism event every 10 years.

When you should attend?

The deadline to attend for all members who attained fellowship, or who last attended an event in 2001 or before, is 30 June 2011.

Who must attend?

• If you are working in the UK or Ireland, and are a Category 1 or Category 2 actuary in terms of the CPD Scheme you must attend.

• If you are working in the UK or Ireland, and are a Category 3 actuary you must decide whether you should attend depending on the nature of your work.

CATEGORY 1 Those with UK statutory practising certificates

CATEGORY 2 Those working in one of the areas covered by the specialist application syllabus but who do not hold a UK statutory practising certificate

CATEGORY 3 Those working outside Categories 1 and 2

Cancellation of a conference place must be made in writing and will be subject to an administrative charge of 20%. Any cancellations advised less than two weeks before the event will not be refunded. A colleague may attend in your place but, we will need written confirmation of this.

A late booking fee of £50 will be applied to all bookings received less than two weeks before the event.

A limited number of bursary places are available for those who are not in remunerative employment, or who work within a university.
