Why attend?
Populations in the developed world are ageing and longevity is improving, accompanied by a shift in many countries from defined benefits (DB) towards defined contribution (DC) schemes. At the same time, a range of commentators are pushing for improved risk management within the corporate and financial world. The increasing impact of pensions on the business strategies of firms means that it is timely to consider those risk management techniques which are used or are available for use within the wider business and financial arena which may be applicable to pension funds, including techniques associated with enterprise risk management. This event will see the presentation of a paper by Malcolm Kemp and Chinu Patel exploring the application of ERM-style techniques to pension funds.
Who should attend?
Whilst of interest to all practice areas, this event will be of particular interest to actuaries working in pensions and enterprise risk management.
