Plenary 5: Putting the patient first |
| |
In the UK, successful health reform is based on the idea of putting the patient first. That points to redesign of services, greater competition and a stronger focus on prevention. But in practice it is the professional voice that dominates, as the Coalition is just the latest Government to discover. The tough funding outlook for the NHS, however, should provide a catalyst for change.

Plenary 6: The view from the public |
| |
In the UK, successful health reform is based on the idea of putting the patient first. It is also being based around ideas of new entrants into the provision of services, and a mixed economy of public and private operators. This session will explore how the British public feels about public and private healthcare provision, their aspirations for their own healthcare and their attitudes towards choice and personalisation.
Speaker: Michelle Harrison, TNS-BMRB
