Excel: out of control
This remit of this working party is look at governance, risk and control in relation to end user computing, especially spreadsheets, which are in common use in most internal models and nearly all data reviews identified issues with them. This working party is a new one which formed following GIRO 2012.
Key Objectives:-
- What is the extent of error and risk within spreadsheets in the market
- What is the best way of restructuring, governing, derisking or controlling these. (In response to FSA’s “Solvency II, IMAP, Data Review Finding, Sept 2012”, Sction “IT Environment, Technology & Tools”)
