Library services

The Actuarial Profession has three libraries, one at each location.

If you are a member or student of the Faculty or Institute of Actuaries, a student or staff member in an actuarial science department in a UK university, or a member of an overseas actuarial body working in the UK, you can use the actuarial profession's libraries.

Visiting the libraries

Library opening hours are 09.00 - 17.00 hrs Monday to Friday.

All the libraries offer quiet comfortable study space. Past exam papers, examiners' reports, ActEd course notes and Core Reading are available for reference.

If you are planning a visit please contact us in advance so we can ensure a member of staff will be on hand to welcome you.

Borrowing library items

Please request items for loan using the online catalogue or by e-mail to libraries@actuaries.org.uk. Please include your ARN and preferred delivery address. Although we will have your details on our membership database, if you include those details on the form it will reduce delay.

Requesting copies

Subject to Copyright Regulations, we can provide copies of periodical articles and extracts from books. Photocopies can be faxed if required.
Costs:

  • Orders of less than 10 pages free of charge
  • Photocopies: £0.20 per A4 sheet (plus handling charge of £5.00 to addresses outside UK)
  • Faxed photocopies: £0.50 per A4 sheet (including cost of photocopy)

Where articles and papers are available online, we have supplied links in the online catalogue.
