This event is organised by Knowledge Sharing Scotland.

Professor Bell is economic advisor to the House of Lords re Devolution.  He is on the editorial board of the Journal of the Economics of Ageing, whose subject matter addresses many important aspects of ageing, such as pensions, health, productivity etc.

He is the principal investigator for the Healthy Ageing in Scotland project (HAGIS) which is funded by the US National Institute for Ageing and the Nuffield Foundation. It is a longitudinal survey of Scots aged 50+ which will focus on their health, living conditions and financial circumstances - this will then feed in to a wider survey with other countries.  This could potentially have a huge number of applications to Actuarial Science e.g longevity, and to product provision for our ageing population.

Professor Delaney is Professor of Economics at the Scottish Institute for Research in Economics, and Director of the Scottish Graduate Programme in Economics PhD programme at the Stirling University.  His general area of expertise is in behavioural economics, and the overlap between economics and psychology.
