In April, the BAS published an exposure draft of the generic reporting standard and a consultation paper on the structure of new BAS standards. The latter sets out proposals for the contents of the new book of standards, the treatment of the Guidance Notes that were adopted from the Profession, and a timetable for implementation.
The BAS currently has four open consultations:
All BAS consultation papers are available at http://www.frc.org.uk/bas/publications/consultation.cfm.
BAS staff will be presenting a workshop on current BAS issues at the Pensions Convention in June.
The FRC is planning to publish a consultation paper on the drivers of actuarial quality later this month. The POB is planning to publish a paper on the monitoring and scrutiny of actuarial work at the same time.
