The '400 Club'

This page tells you why our pioneering '400 Club' is vital to the way in which the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries serves its members and explains how you can get involved.
The purpose of the '400 Club'
One of the key elements of our strategy is 'to offer excellent support that meets members' varied and evolving needs'. As part of our drive for excellence, the '400 Club' launched in December 2011 to help us track our progress.
"I feel that the 400 Club is a great tool that allows me and fellow students to actively support and shape the future of the profession". Susan Macfarlane, Scottish Widows plc
Composition of the Club
This is an online feedback group made up of 400 of our members. This group of 400 volunteers who make up the '400 Club' represent the entire membership body. We select members with care. The members span all ages, locations and practice areas. Our student members and international members are well represented too with members taking part from countries such as Australia, Singapore, South Africa, India, the USA, Bermuda, Switzerland, Germany, and Malta, to name but a few.
How to become a member of the '400 Club'
Please volunteer to be included on the reserve list. When a vacancy on the '400 Club' becomes available we will fill it with a similar representative member from the reserve list. Those members on the reserve list will be selected to match the criteria of that vacancy rather than in the order on the list. The more members we have on our reserve list, the better.
What happens when you are a member of the '400 Club'?
The commitment to the '400 Club' will not be onerous. We ask members to complete an online questionnaire every four to eight weeks. You will have between two to three weeks to submit your answers. We send you an overview of the results following each survey. Your input can have a big impact on how we respond to members' needs, going forward.
