Signing of documents – post merger

References to the Faculty of Actuaries and the Institute of Actuaries in legislation

Members will be aware that both the Faculty and the Institute are referred to in a number of legislative sources, e.g. Acts of Parliament and various Statutory Instruments (for example, Regulations, Orders and Measures).

The structure of the merger involved no change to the legal entity of the Institute, other than a change of name.  Consequently all references to the Institute (statutory or otherwise) remain valid and effective.

For the avoidance of doubt therefore, all Fellows (whether previously Institute or Faculty) are able to continue to sign certificates etc. under the legislation as Fellows of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries.
