Statutory roles: Practising certificates

Practising Certificates are required by those actuaries who wish to act as a 'designated actuary' as set out in the Rules and Bye-laws of the Faculty and of the Institute


Cost

The current cost of a practising certificate is £830.

If your application is received after the 14 day deadline, a 25% late penalty fee will be added to the cost.

Scheme Actuaries: If your application is received after the expiry date of your current certificate you will be required to resign any appointments held until such a time that a certificate can be granted.

The normal turnaround time for a renewal certificate is 2 – 4 weeks. However, it can take longer during holiday periods.
