The third period of the Certified Actuarial Analyst (CAA) exam registrations closed at the end of October and we are delighted with the numbers:

  • 217 bookings for November CAA exams
  • Almost 600 registrations for CAA
  • 22% of exam bookings have been made by current student members
  • The most registrations came from the UK - 37%
  • The next highest are India, Kenya, South Africa and Zimbabwe.

The CAA is a new professional qualification and membership category for the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA).

Promoting the CAA to both our members and a wider audience has been our main aim over the last 12 months and, given the above numbers, the hard work is beginning to pay off.

Providing a qualification that offers a career path into finance and actuarial work to anyone with an aptitude for maths and problem solving has been our driver – offering a robust and highly respected professional qualification for all is our message.

We will continue to work to grow awareness by promoting the CAA in schools, colleges and universities from both traditional and diverse backgrounds, as well as to our members and employers.
