New CPD scheme, effective from 1 July 2010
29 June 2010The new scheme not only redefines the traditional Category 2 class of members but also introduces important changes to the requirements for those actuaries within Category 2.
The regime, in place from July 2010, offers increased flexibility for members of the Actuarial Profession: the historic distinction between professional and technical CPD has been abolished and the completion of CPD hours by private reading has been introduced to the scheme.
Members should pay careful attention to the new definition of Category 2 and, in particular, note the abolition of Categories 3 and 4 under the previous CPD scheme.
