Consultations and Discussion Papers
We seek the views of actuaries, their employers and other interested parties, including users of actuarial advice and regulators, on a range of consultations and discussion papers.
Exposure Draft ED31 - The Actuary as an Expert
We launched a consultation on The Actuary as an Expert on 9 October 2013. The proposals introduce a cross practice Actuarial Profession Standard (APS) for actuaries acting as experts in legal proceedings together with an accompanying Guide for members.
The APS would replace the Information and Assistance Note (IAN) that currently provides guidance to actuaries acting as expert witnesses or expert advisors in legal proceedings and should introduce clarity over what a member must or should do when instructed in such a role.
We would encourage you to read the proposals and give us your views. Download the consultation package or alternatively the consultation paper, draft APS and draft Guide can be downloaded separately. To complete the survey, please download the online questionnaire or the 'Word' version of the questionnaire.
Forthcoming consultations

The consultation documentation will be available on this webpage once it has been published and a communication will be issued to all members.
