Appeals and policy procedure

With effect from September 2007, there will be a change to the Exam Appeal process. The revised appeals process, which will remove the second stage of the appeal, had been agreed by the Education Committee and ECPD Board.

We would like to reassure students that our marking system includes the double blind marking of all scripts. Any scripts that fall within the borderline category are further reviewed by the Examining team and in some occasions by a fourth review to ensure that you are awarded an accurate grade.

Students that are dissatisfied with the grade awarded may wish to consider the examination counselling service instead. This would give you an opportunity to review your performance (although not the actual marks awarded) and examination technique. In the unlikely event that an administrative error has occurred, it would be recognised within this process, negating the need for an exam appeal and the exam counselling fee would be reimbursed.
