The frequent changes in university and professional body programmes, as well as the wide choice of subjects often allowed, makes it impractical to give a comprehensive and detailed list of possible exemptions.
However, exemption from any Core Technical (CT) subject is normally granted if you have covered the key objectives of the syllabus of the Actuarial Profession subject adequately at degree or postgraduate level and have achieved satisfactory standards in those relevant papers. An exemption is not usually given if you score less than 60% in the relevant university subjects. The exemptions will depend in each case on the scope of the subjects covered by the particular examinations and on the achievement of a satisfactory level of performance by you and the completion of the relevant qualification. You can compare your previous studies with our syllabuses.
The Actuarial Profession can not answer speculative requests (this includes requests by email, mail or telephone) asking us to grant, or to guarantee, exemptions. A completed application form including required documentary evidence must be submitted in all cases.
