Professor Xiaolin Li is the Dean of the Insurance School, Central University of Finance and Economics (CUFE), BeijingAs founder of the China Institute for Actuarial Science at the Central University of Finance and Economics (CUFE) in Beijing, Professor Li has been at the forefront of actuarial teaching in China for over two decades.  Through this position, he has played a key role in the development of actuarial skills in China and the education of actuaries of the future.  He has had a long-standing relationship with the IFoA through CUFE’s support of the IFoA’s examinations. 

Professor Li has an active and varied research agenda, which includes the development of Chinese mortality tables, agriculture insurance and regulatory issues.  He is Chief Researcher and Chairman of the Academic Board of the Beijing Insurance Research Institute, a think tank for the China Insurance Regulatory Commission (CIRC).  He is also Director of the China Association of Actuaries and Director of the Insurance Institute of China.

Prof Li holds a BA in Mathematics from Shangong University and a PhD in Economics from the China Institute for Actuarial Science at CUFE.

The IFoA hopes to continue to build on its relationship with Professor Li for both actuarial education and its global research agenda.
