The Institute and Faculty of Actuaries' (IFoA’s) Actuarial Research Centre (ARC) has launched a new webinar series to showcase three of its largest cutting-edge research programmes, addressing some significant challenges in actuarial science
The series consisted three separate webinars, covering the main research programmes:
- Modelling, Measurement and Management of Longevity and Morbidity Risk, 17 May 2017
In this webinar, Professor Andrew Cairns (Heriot-Watt University) introduced the research programme and presented a case study based on Danish Data.
- Use of Big Health and Actuarial Data for understanding Longevity and Morbidity, 13 June 2017
In this webinar, Professor Elena Kulinskaya (University of East Anglia) and industry expert Nigel Wright (Aviva) outlined the key objectives of the research programme and presented a case study on statins and life expectancy.
- Minimising Longevity and Investment Risk while optimising Future Pension Plans, 14 June 2017
In this webinar, Professor Jens Perch Nielsen (Cass Business School) introduced the research programme and presented some early research exploring the 'Communication and self-control of a pension saver's financial risk'.
