In the spirit of fostering the IFoA’s vibrant, global community and enabling our members to participate, we have decided to hold our AGM virtually again this year. This allows for greater accessibility to this important annual event, and for greater accountability of our organisation.

The Business of the AGM

At each AGM, members are invited to receive and consider the Annual Report of the IFoA, along with the financial statements for the past financial period. The past year has been a significant one for the future of the IFoA. We have continued to make meaningful progress against our five-year strategy, while ensuring that the key lessons learned and benefits realised in the pandemic to date are embedded into our ongoing ways of working. At each AGM, members are invited to receive and consider the Annual Report of the IFoA, along with the financial statements for the past financial period. The report and financial statements will be made available on our website ahead of the AGM, and we welcome questions about them both before and at the meeting – see below for further details.

The results of our Council elections will be announced at the AGM. The outgoing President of Council, Louise Pryor, will be invited to speak, and Matt Saker will be formally installed as our President for the 2022/23 session.

Lastly, the results of two votes will be announced at the AGM:

To appoint auditors for the forthcoming year

To authorise Council to set the auditors’ remuneration

Those members who are eligible to vote on these matters will be contacted separately in due course with full details.

Those members who join the meeting will have the option to submit questions to presenters on the day. You can also submit questions in advance by emailing James Harrigan, the IFoA’s Corporate Secretary. We will endeavour to answer all questions either at the meeting itself, or electronically thereafter.

The formal Notice of our AGM can be viewed on our website.

Listening to, and learning from our members is central to our aim to provide a better and more valuable experience to you, and our AGM provides a great opportunity for you to share your thoughts and concerns with us.
