Join us for a discussion with Bryan Foss, Jeannette Lichner and Patrick Dunne, our panel of esteemed non-executive directors with extensive governance experience in the Financial Services sector, sharing their insights.

Speakers: 

Jeannette Lichner

Jeannette has over 20 years’ senior executive experience in the financial services industry, in firms including Morgan Stanley and Bank of America. She was also a consultant to the financial services industry focused on governance, risk, regulation and leadership for 10 years. 

Jeannette’s non-executive director roles currently include being on the board of the UK Financial Conduct authority; Chair of Elucidate GmBh, a trustee of Local Trust, and a member of the Global Advisory Board of the McIntire School of Commerce of the University of Virginia, of which she is an alumnus.  She has been the head tutor for the High Impact Leadership course for the Cambridge Institute of Sustainability Leadership and is a visiting professor at the London Institute of Banking and Finance, teaching leadership and corporate governance. She is also a Companion Member of the Chartered Management Institute.

Patrick Dunne

Patrick is the Chair of board consultancy Boardelta, working with charities The EY Foundation and ESSA- Education Sub Saharan Africa and Chair of the Oversight Board for the Chartered Management Consultant as well as a Trustee of the Chartered Management Institute.

Executive experience with Air Products and FTSE 100 3i Group plc where he was Communications Director, a member of the Operating committee and Chair of its Operational Risk forum.

Author of the award winning “Boards” and member of the Higgs review.  

A Visiting Professor at Cranfield School of Management, and an Associate Fellow at Warwick Business School and a former member of the General Council of the University of Warwick

Bryan Foss 

Bryan is an experienced NED of some 15+ years including major public sector departments, UK listed company roles, challenger bank and technology start-ups including chairing an FCA authorised fintech. Bryan is also a senior advisor to the Financial Reporting Council, co-founder of the Risk Coalition and Visiting Professor with Bristol Business School. In these various board and committee chair roles he has gained considerable experience of international crisis management across regulated sectors.

Sophie Wright

Sophie has expertise in business strategy and risk oversight in the Financial sector, with senior roles at international Investment banks BNP Paribas, JP Morgan and ABN Amro over 25 years. She has led global projects with multi-cultural teams to improve business performance. 

She is a Risk and Strategy advisor focusing on Digitalisation at the International Banking Federation, as well as Strategic advisor and member of the Board development program committee at European Women on Boards, supporting others in reaching senior roles.

Sophie is a member of the Finance & Investment Board at the IFoA, as well as the liaison member for the Risk Management Board. She is a member of the Risk Coalition Advisory group, and regularly gives back to London Business School as an MBA alumna.
