This is a Bristol Actuarial Society event.

A presentation covering the proposed changes to the IFoA Education Strategy.

The current Education Strategy was introduced in 2005. Since then, there has been significant incremental changes including the introduction of ST9 (ERM). The nature of the work of actuaries is changing and can be expected to continue to change. To ensure actuaries remain fit for purpose, the IFoA are now undertaking a review that will consider what competences will be required of actuaries working in roles across varied industries in 2025.

The high level aims of the review are to ensure that:

  • the qualification process remains fit for purpose for the next 10 years;
  • our syllabus covers the IAA requirements for fully qualified actuaries;
  • our educational system and its delivery support the strategy of the profession.

The review team now have a draft proposal and would like to share this with as many interested audiences as possible. As part of the consultation, speakers from the working parties and IFoA staff, all of whom are involved in the review, are coming to Bristol to give the Bristol Actuarial Society members the opportunity to have their say about these proposals.

The session will involve both presentations and the opportunity for discussions and feedback.

Tea and coffee from 17.00 for a 17.30 start.
