Monday 23 January 2017 17:00 - 19:30

This is a cross-practice sessional meeting, which should appeal to those with an interest in the future development of Solvency II in the UK, in the light of last year’s Brexit vote.  For the first time, the IFoA will be running this sessional meeting simultaneously between Edinburgh and London, with a mixture of a live video feed between the two sites and on-site presentations and discussions.

Following our written submission in November, the IFoA was invited to give evidence in person to the Treasury Select Committee (TSC) on their inquiry into the future of the UK’s insurance regulation; this took place on 17 January.

You can view a recording of the full session via the Parliamentary TV service HERE.

The first part of the sessional meeting on 23 January will be a debrief from Andrew Chamberlain, Life Board Chair, on how things went at the TSC evidence session. There will then be updates from two working parties researching themes relevant to the TSC inquiry: the Retrospective on SII and Transitional Measure on Technical Provisions working parties.

Places can also be booked at the Edinburgh-based sessional meeting here.
