Current European data protection law is now over 20 years old and there has been a lot of change in those 20 years, especially in technological terms and particularly in the vastly increased use of cloud computing and social media services that many of us use every day. The new General Data Protection Regulation will become UK law in May 2018 and is designed to bring data protection legislation up to date with these changes and to harmonise the differing approaches across the European Union. This seminar looks at what the Regulation does and what it might mean for your schemes and businesses.
