The recent judgement in the Lloyds High Court case has clarified that trustees will need to equalise benefits for the effect of unequal Guaranteed Minimum Pensions between men and women. The judgement set out a number of possible methods that could be used to achieve equalisation. Choosing and implementing a method to achieve GMP equalisation is a significant exercise.

The choice of method will influence the size of additional liabilities, as well as administration practicalities and costs. This talk will discuss the various methods available for equalising GMP, key considerations and actions for both Trustees and Companies, and a discussion of some of the associated legal issues.
