This is a Bristol Actuarial Society event.

Speaker:  Gil Schwenk, Bath Consultancy Group

We live in interesting times with Brexit and the election of Donald Trump, trade deals and alliances collapsing, the world order that we have known for several decades is shifting. Increasing we live in a VUCA world – volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous. This creates challenges for us as actuaries in determining probabilities and risk of future events. It also challenges us as leaders as we try to keep our organisations afloat and profitable in increasingly choppy waters.

This highly participative workshop will explore VUCA and what we can do to be more resilient as individuals and as tomorrow’s leaders. BCG is an organisational development consultancy working with leading global and European companies and public sector organisations to enable them to develop the leadership and culture needed to achieve their strategic goals. The workshop will be facilitated by Gil Schwenk of Bath Consultancy Group. Gil is an executive coach, coach supervisor, and team coach. His consulting work includes leadership development and culture change. Gil’s passion is to liberate the potential of individuals and organisations. His clients span a diverse mix of financial services, consumer goods and public sector organisations including Barclays, NFU Mutual, Fiskars, Microsoft, National Health Service.
