"This house believes that actuaries should incorporate climate change and sustainability risks into their work”

Climate change and the sustainability of the financial system is an important topic and a key area of discussion across the globe.  This debate lines up four engaging speakers across a number of practice areas, including actuaries and those who work alongside actuaries, to prompt a thought-provoking debate on what the actuarial community should be doing. This event is organised by the Resource and Environment Board and is aimed at actuaries across all practice areas, as reflected by the diversity of the speakers. Come along to add your thoughts from the floor whilst gaining a greater understanding of how actuaries, or those working alongside actuaries, consider how this issue should be factored into the work that we do. Speakers include Trevor Maynard, Head of Exposure Management and Reinsurance at Lloyds', Cameron Rose, a trustee of the Lothian Pension Fund, Brian Nimmo, a partner at Hymans Robertson and a practicing Scheme Actuary, and Meryam Omi, Head of Sustainability at L&G Investment Management.  The event will be chaired by Lillian Boyle, Deputy Chairman of the Isle of Man Financial Services Authority.

We hope you will join us to engage in an issue that affects all practice areas.
