Tuesday 6 March 2018 17:30 - 19:00

Solvency II represents a radical shift in the way that European insurance regulation works and is expected to fundamentally change the way European insurers view risk and returns. In this session, Ed Morgan and Jeremy Kent will present a methodology for measuring insurance company value in a Solvency II world.

This methodology considers a real-world perspective on investment returns and allows for an appropriate Cost of Capital, including in respect of hedgeable risks, taking into account the company’s required rate of return. They will demonstrate how this methodology can be used in a number of contexts, including valuations for M&A and other purposes, and new business profitability and pricing.

Presented by: Ed Morgan and Jeremy Kent, Milliman

Refreshments will be served from 17:30 and the lecture will start promptly at 18:00. There is no need to register in advance for this meeting and non-members are welcome.
