International Assistance Fund

As an international Learned Society, the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) seeks to advance all matters relevant to actuarial science. Part of this includes collaborating with and supporting the wider actuarial community through promoting research and knowledge exchange.

Each year, the IFoA makes available a small amount of funding to support attendance at IFoA conferences and IFoA sponsored events. In exceptional circumstances, and with agreement of the Executive and International Board, the fund may also be used to support attendance at other particularly high-calibre events.

The bursary will be available to members in priority regions identified within the IFoA’s International Strategy, namely China, South-east Asia, South Asia and English-speaking Africa. Specifically, the assistance fund will support leaders, actuarial educators and students from less actuarially developed countries, who contribute significantly to the development of the actuarial profession in their country.

The IFoA invites applications from international members who have exhausted other forms of funding.
