ABSTRACT

Over the last 2 years alone, 90% of the data in the world was created. The race is on for businesses worldwide to gain competitive insights from this deluge of data. Indeed, if data is the new gold, can actuaries become the new oil men? Banks lead in terms of ability to access customer lifestyle data but can this be harnessed for both customer experience and shareholder value enhancement? What is the role of the actuary in this space? What competencies are required to win in data and analytics? Are there any ethical and organisational complications around the realisation of data value?

This webinar is aimed at a wide audience with emphasis on both technical competency development and business value extraction. As always, no actuarial talk would be complete without touching on governance.
