survey

On 4 December 2017 the IFoA hosted a workshop on capital flows into green investment and emerging markets in partnership with Anglia Ruskin University and the Observer Research Foundation.

Following on from the workshop, Sarah Hafner*, PhD student at the Global Sustainability Institute, Anglia Ruskin University, invites IFoA members to input into her PhD research – ‘Modelling investment decision in a systems dynamic framework**) by asking you to complete this online survey on green investment. The survey will run until the end of July.

*This online survey has been set up by Sarah Hafner, a PhD-student at the GSI (Global Sustainability Institute, at Anglia Ruskin University). This PhD is funded by the ESRC through CUSP (Centre for Understanding Sustainable Prosperity) led by Tim Jackson. Main supervisor of the PhD-project is Prof Aled Jones, IFoA Resource and Environment Research and CPD committee member. The purpose of this survey is to generate research outputs, which will be published in due course (in anonymized format and in line with the UK data protection laws and regulations).

**The project “Modelling investment decision in a system dynamics framework” is part of the PhD project “Macro- and socioeconomic impacts of a sustainable economy – A system dynamics approach to model the energy transition in the UK”. This PhD-project aims at elaborating policy recommendations to “green” the UK energy supply sector. Current research shows that the “green” transition of the UK energy supply sector requires a substantial amount of further investments in infrastructure. Therefore, the focus of the thesis project lies on policies that contribute to scale-up green investment into the UK energy sector.
