On the 8 and 9 December, the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) will be at the Paris Climate Change talks, having received invites to present on climate change and risk at two prestigious events.

Nico Aspinall, Chair of the IFoA Resource and Environment Board will be road testing some of our new thinking on actuarial principles for risk management for climate change with corporate CEOs from the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) during its session on "Beyond Paris: Turning global catastrophic climate risk into an opportunity with the help of a new generation of risk tools".

And, Mike Clark, our representative at Oxford University’s Stranded Assets Programme will be attending the Carbon Tracker-PRI Roundtable On Strategic Risk Disclosures For Fossil Fuel Companies at the Sustainable Innovation Forum 2015. This will be a private roundtable which will bring together 24 high-level participants from asset owners, asset managers and policy-makers.

As part of the "Green is Great Britain" campaign, we’ll also be participating in the panel discussion being hosted by the British Embassy. Panel members have been drawn from a wide audience and will include McKinsey, the United Nations Environment Programme, Green Investment Bank, Aviva France and the Economic Intelligence Unit.

We’ll be providing more news updates direct from Paris on Twitter and via our website throughout the whole of the two days.
