Chris Reynolds, Chair of Health & Care Board and Colin Dutkiewicz, Chair of Life Board with the support of President John Taylor have joined forces to establish a cross-practice Covid-19 Working Party. It will focus on how Covid-19 will impact the work of actuaries and it will initially focus on producing a series of timely and relevant bulletins. These bulletins will be based on the IFoA’s Pandemics Hub and are designed to be of interest and use to IFoA members and the wider insurance industry.

In the initial stages, four topics have been identified:

  • General overview on issues to consider for practitioners
  • New Business Impact
  • Supporting Consumers
  • Covid-19 and insured customers more at risk

The aim is for each topic to generate at least 1 bulletin and the group is currently looking for volunteers to contribute content. Volunteers will only be asked to commit to one topic and once this is complete, volunteers will have the opportunity to join another topic if they so wish.

If you have an interest in volunteering for the Covid-19 Working Party, please contact the IFoA’s Head of Engagement, Debbie Atkins.
