New exciting volunteering opportunities are now open for General Insurance (GI) actuaries.  Three brand new IFoA GI subcommittees are looking for enthusiastic members to foster research, shape conferences and mould education relevant for the coming challenges. This Autumn they will replace the General Insurance Education and CPD (GI ECPD) and General Insurance (GIRO) committees.

Research and Thought LeadershipPeople in research meeting
Have you often wanted to help in effective actuarial research for the community?  Innovation and exploration are indispensable for adding value and pushing the boundaries of our exciting and dynamic GI industry.  As a member of the GI Research and Thought Leadership Committee (GIRTL), you will collaborate to provide necessary help in all areas of research:  from the formulation of questions, through assistance in the hard work itself, to the value capture of promoting conclusions to relevant audiences.

Lifelong Learning
Are you interested in bringing together the GI community to discuss current issues and share the latest developments in the market? The GI Lifelong Learning Committee (GILL) is responsible for all matters relating to CPD being undertaken by the GI Practice Area and development of the IFoA’s annual offering of conferences and seminars, including the flagship GIRO conference.  This is your chance to shape the future structure and to organise and chair events!

Education
Do you want to help the profession by developing syllabus materials for the next generation of actuaries? As a member of the GI Education Team you will help review and develop the GI syllabus, core reading and assessment material, in particular to ensure they are kept current, relevant and innovative. We are looking for volunteers with experience of all areas of general insurance including pricing, reserving and capital modelling.‎

Please visit the Volunteer Vacancies Webpage for more details.  We look forward to hearing from you!
