Each year a Regions Report is published detailing the activities undertaken by each of the IFoA’s regional groups, as well as the work done by the IFoA to engage with and support them. These regional groups are run by IFoA volunteers and they provide a wealth of technical and social events for actuaries in their area, as well as providing an invaluable link between the profession and its members in actuarial hubs throughout the UK and further afield.

During the last year both Derek Cribb, Chief Executive of the IFoA and members of the Presidential team have visited many of these regional groups, meeting members and discussing matters of interest to the profession in their area.

The IFoA currently has a network of 23 regional groups, 18 in the UK and five internationally, with plans to launch more in the year to come. These groups ran over 120 technical events providing a wide range of CPD events for IFoA members in their local area.

Commenting on the role of regional groups, Fiona Morrison, President of the IFoA, said “I am passionate about the future of the IFoA and fully recognise that regional communities are vital to its sustainability.”
