Restrictive finance policies are hastening coal's decline

Justin Guay (Director of Global Climate Strategy, Sunrise Project and adviser, ClimateWorks Foundation), has published an article on Axios, the American news and information website, about the 100 plus global financial institutionswhich have now restricted access to financing for the coal industry. According to Guay, the decline in in coal supply investment comes as the price of internationally traded coal has hit a five-year high, which historically would have stimulated investment.

First meeting of the PRA and FCA’s joint Climate Financial Risk Forum

On Friday 8 March, the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) and the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) hosted the first meeting of the Climate Financial Risk Forum (CFRF). The objective of the CFRF is to build capacity and share best practice across financial regulators and industry to advance financial sector responses to the financial risks from climate change.
