Nat Cat Validation Working Party Update

The Nat Cat Risk Validation Framework Working Party was formed in order to further examine Cat Model Validation. The working party is investigating what a proportionate validation means for Nat Cat risk in the context of complex external models, available vendor validation and Solvency II requirements.

Also in the SoA’s The Actuary is an article on the challenges of climate change and the global actuarial response.
UKSIFand ShareAction cite IFoA Risk Alert for Climate Change Checklist

The UK Sustainable Investment and Finance Association (UKSIF) and ShareAction have produced a checklist for pension trustees to help them consider climate change risk during their decision making process. The checklist specifically highlights the IFoA’s 2017 Risk Alert, along with material from the UK Law Commission and Pensions Regulator, as evidence to support the need for trustees to consider climate change risks in their assessments.
