The Insuring Later Life Illnesses working party is working to provide a deeper understanding of later life conditions, and thus allowing insurers to develop more product solutions to help fund care and other costs in later life

With more people surviving conditions like cancer and heart disease typically covered by critical illness policies, more people are living to suffer other illnesses of older age, such as dementia, that we know much less about. In fact, it is expected the prevalence of such diseases to increase significantly in the next 20-30 years.

The Insuring Later Life Illnesses Working Party will:

  • Review the phases of health and illness in later life
  • Understand the needs of people in later life
  • Outline the financial solutions that currently exist, and;
  • Identify gaps and opportunities.

Outputs:

  • Sessional meeting paper and presentation in 2016 (anticipated).
