The mental health working party aims to raise the level of understanding of mental health amongst actuaries, promote the consideration of mental health in the design of products and processes and explore data and modelling for mental health risk factors.
Key objectives
- Raise the level of understanding and awareness of mental health amongst actuaries and insurance professionals.
- Promote the consideration of mental health in the design of products and processes in actuarial work.
- Collate and disseminate the latest thinking and research on mental health risk factors, and the wider impact of mental health on morbidity and mortality.
- Reach out to mental health charities and consumer groups to strengthen trust, build community and support them, where appropriate, in advocating for change in the insurance and financial services industry.
