Banking

Banking Specialist Principles (SP10) and Banking Specialist Advanced (SA10) are key subjects for students planning to work in the field of banking.

The IFoA delivers these subjects through a formal accreditation of the Actuarial Society of South Africa (ASSA)’s online international modules in Banking. IFoA candidates taking the Banking Specialist Principles or Banking Specialist Advanced subjects will complete all their studies and examinations directly with ASSA.

The IFoA will recognise successful completion of ASSA’s B100 or B200 examinations as part of the IFoA’s own pre-Fellowship pathway to qualification. On successful completion of B100 the IFoA will award the student a pass in Specialist Banking Principles (SP10), and on successful completion of B200 the IFoA will award the student a pass in Specialist Banking Advanced (SA10).

Candidates can access additional support by joining the IFoA’s banking community, who host banking-specific events and content and connect with like-minded actuaries in this sector.
