Forthcoming Disciplinary Tribunal Panel Hearings

Disciplinary Tribunal Panel Hearing, 15 to 16 April 2024, Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, Online Hearing. The hearing is public and will commence at 09:30 (UK time).

The charge against Ms Pettifor relates to the preparation of a report into the pension rights of Person A and Person B (in March 2022) which is alleged to be inadequate. The report allegedly did not comply with paragraph 9 of the Family Procedure Rules Practice Direction 25B. There are alleged associated breaches of the Compliance section and/or paragraph(s) 3.2, 3.3, 4.3, and/or 5.1 of TAS 100, paragraph 3 of APS X1: Applying Standards to Actuarial Work and paragraph(s) 4.1 and/or 4.2 of APS X3: The Actuary as an Expert in Legal Proceedings. The conduct is alleged to be in breach of the Communication, Compliance and Competence and Care Principles of the Actuaries’ Code (Version 3.0) and, if established, to constitute misconduct.

The charge against Mr Khan relates to the period January and February 2015. The allegations include that as a Director of Company A he formed a Partnership (Partnership B) which presented a conflict of interest that was not allegedly disclosed. There are separate allegations relating to causing, instructing and/or allowing emails to be sent from Partnership B to clients of Company A claiming that their actuarial services would now be provided by Partnership B. The conduct is alleged to be dishonest and in breach of the Impartiality, Integrity and Communication principles of the Actuaries’ Code (Version 2.0) and, if established, to constitute misconduct.
