Louise Pryor, President of the IFoA
In the course of a varied career as an actuary, software engineer and academic, Louise was Director, Actuarial Standards at the Financial Reporting Council, where she led the development of the Technical Actuarial Standards. She has practised as an independent consultant in the areas of software risk and sustainability and has worked on financial modelling for social security and pensions reform in a number of emerging economies.
Louise is Chair of the London Climate Change Partnership and a non-executive director at the Ecology Building Society.

Steve Waygood, Chief Responsible Investment Officer, Aviva Investors
Steve has always been fascinated by the power of money to change the world. He has worked for Aviva Investors for the last 15 years where he founded its Global Responsible Investment team as well as its Sustainable Finance Centre for Excellence, which seeks to transform capital markets so that they become more sustainable. He also co-founded the Corporate Human Rights Benchmark, the World Benchmarking Alliance, and the UN Sustainable Stock Exchange Initiative.
Steve was appointed to the European Commission High-Level Expert Group on Sustainable Finance, and the UK Green Finance Taskforce, and is also a member of the Financial Stability Board Taskforce on Climate-Related Financial Disclosure (TCFD). He was highlighted by the Financial Times in 2018 as being one of the warriors of climate change among Money Managers.
Catherine Howarth, CEO of ShareAction
Catherine joined ShareAction as Chief Executive in 2008. ShareAction coordinates civil society to promote responsible investment across Europe, with a focus on mobilising mainstream institutional investors to drive accelerated action by listed companies on climate change, workforce and gender issues and food system risks. She is a member of HM Treasury’s asset management taskforce. She is a board member of the Scott Trust, owner of The Guardian media group, serving on the Scott Trust’s investment committee. Catherine was recognised by the World Economic Forum as a Young Global Leader in 2014.
Mike Clark, Director of Ario Advisory
Mike runs a responsible investment advisory firm, working with policymakers, regulators, asset owners, investment consultants and other finance sector actors. He represents IFoA on the Advisory Council to the Oxford Smith School Sustainable Finance Programme. He recently stepped down from a NED role at Brunel (LGPS). Last year he authored the IFoA curated climate reading list. Earlier this year he authored: Government and its Chief Risk Officer role: an assessment – Actuaries for Transformational Change
