 The President will normally serve for a term of one year. Each member of Council will normally serve for a term of three years before being required to stand for re-election and must stand down for a year after two terms.

Meetings of Council

Council meets every two months.  The dates of Council meetings for the next 18 months or so are:  9 January, 12 March, 21 May, 9 July, 10 September and 12 November 2012, and 14 January, 11 March and 20 May 2013.  Meetings normally take place at Staple Inn, London.  The aim is to hold one meeting in Edinburgh each year - the next meeting in Edinburgh is on 12 March 2012.
