IAA special interest sections
International actuarial knowledge-sharing
The IAA special interest sections encourage actuarial research and development in particular areas of practice. Currently, the IAA has sections covering: Life, Non-life, Financial Risks, Health, Pensions, Benefits and Social Security, Consulting, and Actuaries Without Frontiers. See the IAA's Sections brochure for more information.
The Sections have exciting plans to add value for their memberships, including:
- Providing additional developments on section websites;
- Increasing usage of webcast technology to provide members with additional CPD opportunities;
- Offering electronic access to the historical library of the ASTIN Bulletin, now the Journal of the IAA, including the most recent issues;
- Sponsoring high-calibre guest speakers at Congresses and Colloquia; and
- Providing access to past papers presented at Section events.
The most efficient way of subscribing for membership of one or more IAA Section is by making the appropriate selection(s) on the annual subscription notice. If you wish to subscribe to an IAA Section after you have returned the notice, you may easily do so by sending an email to membership@actuaries.org.uk requesting that a subscription to the relevant IAA Section be set up. Once the membership team has set up the subscription, you may pay for it via the online payment system as for other subscriptions.
