East Asian Actuarial Conference, 10-13 October 2011, Kuala Lumpur

Philip Scott, President-elect, Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, was a keynote speaker at the EAAC on 11 October, speaking on the subject of Solvency II.  He also held a short seminar on 12 October, at the Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.

Visit to SE Asia

In August/September 2011, the Acting Chief Executive, Derek Cribb, and the Director of Education, Trevor Watkins, visited actuarial associations and educational establishments in Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.  A photo gallery of their visit is available here.

Groupe Consultatif - Summer School 2011, Lisbon - ORSA

The 2011 Summer School, hosted by the Instituto dos Actuarios Portugueses, will be held in Lisbon on 25-27 May 2011 on the topic Testing and disclosing Own Risk Models for Solvency Assessments (ORSA). Full details, including provisional programme and registration, are available here.  Speakers at the event will include Seamus Creedon, Esko Kivisaari, Henk Van Broekhoven, Elliott Varnell, Dieter Köhnlein and Gabriel Bernardino.
