Africa newsletter - October 2012

Welcome to our first Africa newsletter.

I’m honoured to have now succeeded Jane Curtis as President of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries at the end of June.

As part of our continuing commitment to our members in Africa, I am pleased that our Past-President, Ronnie Bowie will be attending the Actuarial Society of South Africa’s annual conference in Cape Town on the 15 and 16 November. Ronnie will be taking part in a panel discussion at the Conference “Treating Customers Fairly –Doing the Right Thing and Doing it Right”. He will be accompanied by our Chief Executive Derek Cribb.

While at the Conference we hope to meet as many of our members as possible –so watch out for an invite to the event we will be organising on the fringes of the Conference.
