Educational Affiliate
In order to engage more actively with students in our accredited universities we are encouraging final year students to sign up with the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries so that we can give them access to The Actuary magazine and to relevant local actuarial events as well as keeping in touch through newsletters and other updates. We will be introducing the new scheme in cooperation with our partner universities at the start of the next academic year in September/October 2012.
Exemptions
Following the accreditation of the universities in China, students of the Profession may be eligible to apply for exemptions from some of our exams.
Being granted an exemption means that you have passed an exam that has an equivalent syllabus and level of difficulty to one of the Profession’s exams and that you therefore do not need to take it directly with us
The amount and range of exemptions you may be eligible for depends on:
- Whether you have completed a university programme that we have an agreement with
- Whether you hold certain Professional qualifications
- Whether you have exam passes from some other specified actuarial bodies
Students who have completed an actuarial or numerate degree programme that we do not have an agreement with can also apply for exemptions, as can holders of professional qualifications that we do not have agreements with. Full details of how to apply and the information that you need to provide is available on our website and in the student handbook.
